Salt n Koffie Gallery @ Jaya One

Here's a new coffee place thats already making waves for the right reasons. Located in Jaya One off Jalan University in Petaling Jaya, Salt 'n Koffie is a place for good coffee with a twist.

They have 2 signature coffees, one called the Salty Coffee and another an Affogato with Coconut Ice Cream.
I had the Salty Coffee and true enough there was a tinge of saltiness, but just the right amount to bring out the flavors of the coffee.

This is definitely a must-try place at the Jaya One area.

Hot Shots @ Publika

My current favorite place for a post-lunch latte and also to stock up on my Colombian beans.
Latte (minus the art)
Americano
Ice latte
Seriously Rich Hot Chocolate (these were just tasting samples)
Don't miss the cookies here - you can help yourself to one to go with your coffee. And the Seriously Rich Hot Chocolate has a faithful following. If only they had some crispy yow char koay to dunk into the hot chocolate, it would be perfect :-)

My coffee journey

This is my blog for some of my coffee explorations. Feel free to drop by and leave a comment.

I'm starting off this blog after my first cupping session at the Espresso Lab at Publika in Solaris on 12th May 2012.
Cupping session lead by Bryanne and Daniel of Espresso Lab
We had lots of good coffee including Brazilian Santos, Vietnamese Mocca and Catimor, Etiopian Sidamo, Sumatran Mandheling and the Espresso Lab house blend (which tasted great as an espresso shot). Two coffee varieties stood out from this session. The Ethiopian Yirgacheffe with fruity and lemon/citrus notes. almost like a fruity tea.
Yirgacheffe grounds in in hot water
The El Salvador Aida Batlle Natural which had very distinct notes of berries and peaches. Truly enjoyed this, especially the siphon brewed version.

Kudos to the friendly folks at Espresso Lab for the knowledge imparted. Looking forward to more sessions in future.
